Mission Statement

 

The mission of the South Carolina HIV Planning Council is to develop a comprehensive, statewide HIV Prevention and Care Plan for a responsive, effective, and efficient continuum of services for persons living with HIV/AIDS and those at risk for HIV infection.

* Voting membership limited to 25 persons.
* Of the 25 voting members, a minimum of 5 persons shall be persons living with HIV.  The remaining 20 shall be a balance of prevention and care representatives.

* Others to be considered include representatives from Corrections, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Ryan White Title III programs.

2. State HIV Prevention Director

3. State Ryan White Programs Director

4. State ADAP Director

5. State Ryan White Title IV/Perinatal Prevention Director


* Community Co-Chair (elected position)

* DHEC Co-Chair (appointed by DHEC)


* Standing Committee Chairs (5)

* Ex-Officio Members (2): State Director of HIV Prevention, and State Director of Ryan White Programs


Notes

1. Identifying training needs may fall within the scope of the Needs Assessment Committee

2. Youth shall be included in the Prevention Committee
